Transportation Staffer Named July Employee of the Month

Her colleagues call her “Team Too Much” for her willingness to help anyone with any issue. Now, they can call Monti Kimber, office support for the transportation department, Employee of the Month.

Kimber helps both school and district staff and parents with their transportation challenges and says her years of experience as a bus driver help her solve problems more effectively.

Kimber was nominated by music teacher Lillie Allmond Harris, who wrote: “The very first interaction that I had with Ms. Kimber was in the summer of 2018 when I had a supervisory position with the Summer Arts Institute. She has always been responsive and helpful. The following summer, I returned in a supervisory position with Fine Arts for the IGNITE summer program. There were quite a few fires to put out that summer and she offered the support that was needed from the transportation department to resolve issues. She doesn’t hide behind email and returns your calls and emails within the same or next day. She is always kind and understanding when she communicates orally or through email. She diligently works to find timely solutions to issues. Ms. Kimber has been and continues to be an asset to transportation. I believe that our school district should recognize her for her diligent and dedicated service!”

Kimber received a $50 gift card courtesy of the Greensboro Jaycees. During the month of July, her photo will be displayed at the district’s central offices and in the Greensboro Jaycees office.
