Retiring Office Support Named August Employee of the Month

Priscilla Toon serves families, staff in Teaching, Learning and Professional Development

Greensboro, N.C. – Office support Priscilla Toon loves helping people, and her warm and friendly demeanor has been an asset to Guilford County Schools for nearly 30 years. Yesterday, just a few short weeks away from her retirement and surrounded by the love of her colleagues in Teaching, Learning and Professional Development, she was surprised with the news that she is the August GCS Employee of the Month.

Toon was nominated by Rachana Prabhu, who works for Guilford Parent Academy, one of many departments at the Washington Street central office building where Toon works. She wrote: “Mrs. Toon has been working with GCS for 30 years. She loves everyone at GCS and always shows it with her constant smiles and a kind word to everyone who walks through our building. She works extremely hard at taking care of the Academically Gifted department and also the Washington Street office. She always volunteers to do additional tasks in the building and assists those who need help, offering her expertise to multiple departments. Despite having a lot of work, Mrs. Toon is constantly asking how others are doing and finding out how she can make their work easier.”

Toon received a $50 gift card courtesy of the Greensboro Jaycees. During the month of August, her photo will be displayed at the district’s central offices and in the Greensboro Jaycees office.
