Alamance Elementary Custodian is Employee of the Month

First impressions do count, and Alamance Elementary custodian Ron Crudup understands that. He works hard to keep classrooms maintained, ensuring that students and staff have a clean and welcoming environment; however, Crudup does more than his custodial duties require of him.

“Mr. Ron consistently goes beyond the scope of his assigned duties to support students and staff,” wrote music teacher Kaye Pluth. “For example, he emptied a storage closet to remove a piano that had been barricaded since the COVID shutdown. Others said it was too hard, but Mr. Ron took time to make the piano usable again. He came into my class this week and participated with students in their music lesson. They love him dearly and so do the staff. Mr. Ron is a great addition to our school.”

The staff at Alamance Elementary recognized his dedication to the students and school, leading to him being named Employee of the Month for March. A surprised Crudup entered a gymnasium full of cheering students and staff. One student’s sign read “we love you,” and “you are the best.”

Crudup received a $50 gift card courtesy of the Greensboro Jaycees. During the month of March, his photo will be displayed at the district’s central offices, at Alamance Elementary and in the Greensboro Jaycees office.
