Project Spotlight: On Sap

The Greensboro Jaycees partnered with PDY&F Community Garden, synerG, and the Greensboro Future Fund to host a day of planting, building, and growing. Over 60 volunteers came out to build a greenhouse, plant vegetables, and build raised garden beds, to bring fresh organic produce to East Greensboro. East Greensboro is not only a food desert, it also has experienced food apartheid for decades. This garden, which allows community members to get fresh produce free of cost, also aims to bring agricultural skills to its neighbors. This is an ongoing project and partnership which meets every Saturday. It began in May, and will run through the end of the year.
